Hospitality icon/Restaurateur/Fashion designer Maurice Terzini is one of the Australia’s most highly regarded creative entrepreneurs, best known for establishing several truly iconic Australian dining venues. With spectacular dining destinations, such as Icebergs Dining Room and Bar on Bondi Beach in Sydney and Giuseppe Arnaldo & Sons and the influential Melbourne Wine Room, Terzini has set a high benchmark for impeccable dining to fashion and events and is now turning his eye to establishing successful dining destinations in Asia.
Born to Italian parents in Melbourne, Terzini spent his early years in Italy, which cemented in him a love for his culture and heritage. Living on the Adriatic coat with his family inspired a life long passion for Italian hospitality, food, sharing meals and entertainment. At the age of 23, Terzini established himself as a visionary by opening his first venture Caffe e Cucina in Melbourne, followed by a string of other successful hospitality ventures.
Terzini has been recognised in the hospitality industry for almost three decades, wining various awards including the 2017 New Pub Of The Year Award, Sydney Morning Herald’s Good Food Guide- Silver Service Awards 2006, Eat Drink Design Awards – Hall Of Fame Award 2015 and many more. Terzini has also tried his hand in other creative areas including fashion, launching his label Ten Pieces with partner Lucy Hinkfuss in 2011.. The duo also made headlines in 2015 after they drained the iconic Icebergs pool for their Fashion Week show which is now considered a defining moment in Mercedes Benz Fashion Week history.
Terzini has been a guest speaker at many key style and design events including Design 6, the 2017 Dulux Colour Awards and the National Library of Australia. His gift for dreaming the picture and executing it is often ahead of his time. His ground breaking ideas, styles and locations have cemented his reputation as one of Australia’s most pioneering identities. Terzini has also set a high benchmark for impeccable dining and is now turning his eye to establishing successful dining destinations in Asia, including his new Italian restaurantDa Maria, which recently opened in Bali.
Terzini is determined to promote the connection between food, wine, music, fashion, art. His sought after New Year’s Day party at IDRB has been a popular attraction for many years and continues to attract a diverse crowd.
His fashion label with partner Lucy Hinkfuss, Ten Pieces, launched in 2011 and features just 10 pieces in each collection. In 2015, the duo made headlines after they drained the iconic Icebergs pool for their Fashion Week show in what is now considered a defining moment in Mercedes Benz Fashion Week history.
